Yes You Can Carry More Than One Concealed Pistol At One Time!

Attorney General Mike Cox has ruled in favor of gun owner’s rights yet again and in accordance with state law and the intent of our elected Representatives.  Some time ago it was brought to my attention that some counties were interpreting our Concealed Pistol License as exactly that.  They believed because it said “pistol” it meant you were allowed to carry one, and only one, concealed pistol at any given time.  Attorney General Mike Cox was presented the question by Representative Mike Nofs upon our request (It should be noted that Rep. Mike Nofs legislative aide, Greg Moore, was also instrumental).  Attorney General Mike Cox had the question reviewed by the Criminal Division and they have determined that “pistol” is simply a generic term and can mean either singular or plural under MCL 8.3b, and therefore a Michigan Concealed Pistol Licensee may carry one or more concealed pistols at one time as long as they are in compliance with all other laws.
